New Underwriting Leadership Role Rounds Out U.S. Executive Team

January 21, 2016 - Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has named industry leader Diana Cossetti as senior vice president of LIU’s U.S. Casualty operation - a newly created underwriting leadership role overseeing Primary Casualty, Excess Casualty, Environmental, Railroad and Crisis Management.  She will be based in New York and report directly to LIU’s Chief Underwriting Officer for U.S. operations, Michael Finnegan.

“Diana’s breadth of experience made her the perfect choice to lead our multi-line U.S. Casualty team,” said Finnegan.  “Her deep market knowledge and strong producer relationships will help us develop innovative coverage solutions and easier ways for brokers and agents to engage us, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of their clients.”

Ms. Cossetti brings more than 28 years of insurance industry experience to LIU, including the last 14 years in senior executive positions with Crum & Forster.  Working in nearly every aspect of the business, her extensive background in both retail and wholesale markets will foster greater collaboration among LIU’s casualty offerings and enhance our position with the market in these segments.

“The reputation of LIU and its underwriters as specialty lines market leaders drew me to the company,” said Cossetti.  “I am excited to work with the team to drive greater innovation and develop product strategies that will continue to deliver excellence on all fronts, including improved broker access.”

Brokers and agents can contact Ms. Cossetti directly at 212-208-4112 or Diana.cossetti@libertymutual.com
