More Than 2,600 Claims Experts and Adjusters and Mobile Unit Available to Support Impacted Customers
BOSTON (Sept. 2, 2021) – To help customers promptly and safely recover from the devastating damage of Hurricane Ida, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance are actively mobilizing their deep field and telephonic claims resources to promptly assist home, auto and business customers that were impacted. More than 110 property and auto claims experts are deployed to the region, with approximately 2,500 specialists available by telephone to assist customers.
To further facilitate a quick response and recovery, the companies have set up a home and auto claims mobile unit ready to assist customers, located at The Home Depot, 10300 Coursey Boulevard, in Baton Rouge. As the storm recovery progresses, the mobile claims unit may be relocated to assist the most customers. The company will continue to provide updates of mobile unit location online at www.libertymutual.com and through its social media channels @LibertyMutual.

Homeowners can meet with Liberty Mutual Insurance or Safeco catastrophe specialists at the mobile claims unit on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on weekends or holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to discuss their claims, obtain policy information, and in some cases get initial claims payments for covered losses or receive advances to cover anticipated out-of-pocket costs such as food, clothing, housing and personal items.
Home and auto insurance customers are encouraged to report their claims 24 hours a day by calling these numbers or going online:
- Liberty Mutual Insurance: online at LibertyMutual.com/claims, through the Liberty Mutual Mobile App or by phone at 1800-255-2467. Customers can also start a property claim through their Amazon Alexa enabled device.
- Safeco Insurance: online at fileaclaim.safeco.com or by phone 1-800-332-3226 or their local independent agent.
Liberty Mutual claims representatives or Safeco agents also can assist customers with reporting homeowner flood claims to the National Flood Insurance Program.
Additionally, Liberty Mutual’s commercial insurance claims team has been fully mobilized to respond to business policyholders recovering from Hurricane Ida. Customers can file claims by calling 1-800-362-0000.
