Liberty Mutual Insurance today announced the appointment of Sucheng Chang as President of Liberty Insurance Pte Ltd., the Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary in Singapore. Luiz Francisco Campos will continue to provide leadership and guidance to Liberty International’s global operations, including Liberty Insurance, as head of Liberty International’s newly-created Claims Center of Excellence.
Mr. Chang joined Liberty Mutual Insurance in 2009 and has held multiple roles in the organization including underwriting in the Motor and Employers Compensation Unit in Hong Kong; developing a long-term strategic Asia roadmap while in the Asia Regional Office; and advising on strategy for the company’s Personal Insurance Claims Special Investigation Unit. Most recently, Mr. Chang was head of the property and casualty business for Liberty Insurance (Hong Kong) with responsibility for Distribution, Underwriting, Policy Administration, and Claims.
“Sucheng’s experience integrates a unique blend of the Asian insurance market, the automotive and energy industries, and Liberty’s broader personal lines,” said Luciano Suzuki, Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific. “With that knowledge, he has built a strong property and casualty business in Hong Kong that is outgrowing the market and I look forward to working with him to implement that successful model in the highly competitive Singapore insurance market.”
Mr. Chang stated, “Our Singapore operation is much stronger thanks to Luiz’s leadership. Liberty Insurance will continue to be a product and service innovator in Singapore, making us the preferred insurer in the market.”
Liberty Mutual entered Singapore in 1999 through acquisition—its first in the Asian market. The company now ranks in the top 10 of non-life insurers in Singapore and offers both personal and commercial insurance products through agents and brokers.
