Business Insurance unit takes home Interface Leadership and Real-Time Awards

Liberty Mutual Insurance has been recognized by insurance software provider Applied Systems for outstanding achievement in agency-carrier interface. The insurer was the recipient of the 2013 Interface Leadership Award and the Real-Time Adoption Award for its addition of a first-in-industry Real-Time Account View transaction, eliminating multiple policy, billing and claim inquiries.

Liberty Mutual was also recognized for its efforts in training agent user groups and offering the latest industry standards and workflows that provide agents with ease of doing business across the company’s Business Insurance policy administration platforms.

Jennifer Kline Shernoff, manager, Customer Experience, Liberty Mutual Commercial Insurance, accepted the awards recently during TENCon 2013, the Technology, Education & Networking Conference, the flagship gathering for Applied Systems software users.

“We’ve made great strides over the last year in making data transfer for agency management systems faster while adding more real-time and re-vamped download capabilities,” said Ms. Kline Shernoff. “We’re proud of Applied Systems recognition of not only our new capabilities, but of our agent education and training efforts that have led to a significant increase in our agents’ interface usage.”

“Each year we’re pleased to recognize insurance carriers that uniquely contribute to the advancement of agency-carrier interface and deliver additional benefits to their agency partners and their customers,” said Doug Johnston, vice president, Partner Relations, Applied Systems. “Policy downloads and real-time rating are important in today’s competitive marketplace because they enable carriers and agencies to conduct business more efficiently and deliver better customer service.”

Liberty Mutual’s Business Insurance unit currently offers its appointed agencies the following real-time and batch commercial lines transactions: download of policies, claims, activity notes with attachments and direct bill commissions, upload for claims first notice of loss, as well as real-time inquiries on policies, billing and claims.
