Liberty Mutual Insurance today announced the appointment of Carlos Ricci as CEO of Liberty Compania de Seguros Generales S.A. (“Liberty Seguros Chile”).  Mr. Ricci will oversee the company’s operations in its 16 branch locations throughout Chile.

“The insurance market in Chile continues to provide a wealth of opportunity to expand market share,” said Victor Meintjes, Executive Vice President, Liberty International and Chief Operating Officer - Latin America.  “I am confident that the extensive industry and organizational experience Carlos brings to our operations in Chile will help us continue expanding Liberty Seguros’s presence in the market.”

Mr. Ricci has been with Liberty Mutual Insurance for over two decades, joining the company’s operation in Venezuela - Seguros Caracas de Liberty Mutual C.A. - in 1992 where he held multiple positions in the Underwriting, Commercial, Actuarial, and Audit departments.  Promoted to Chief Underwriting Officer – Personal Lines for the Latin America region in 2008, Mr. Ricci has also participated in multiple projects for Liberty International in Latin America, Europe, and Asia and recently served as the coordinator in the merger and integration of Liberty International’s Ecuadorian operations. He holds an actuary degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and is a graduate of the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administracion (IESA) Management Advanced Program.
