Liberty Mutual Insurance Global Risk Solutions (GRS) President Neeti Bhalla Johnson today announced two newly created global executive leadership positions and appointments: Matthew Moore as President of Underwriting and Susanne Figueredo Cook as Chief Operating Officer. Phil Hobbs was appointed President of Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), succeeding Moore. All positions will report to Bhalla Johnson and are effective May 2.

Liberty Mutual Insurance has completed the acquisition of State Auto Group, a super-regional property and casualty insurance holding company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio that distributes personal and small commercial coverages in 33 states through approximately 3,400 independent agents. More than 2,000 State Auto employees will join Liberty Mutual’s Global Retail Markets US business unit.

Liberty Mutual Insurance today announced the launch of a new Motor Cargo product for the small commercial market. This ground-up build was created to better serve the emerging last mile and gig economy delivery segments, including the regional operators and individual proprietors that transport goods from a distribution hub to its final delivery destination.
